Great initiative! The Council and neighbours need to be made aware of the financial value of keeping this as a QUALITY green space: increasing value of neighbouring property benefits to health and well being, avoiding flooding…etc. Good luck, you’ve doing great.

The fields were still in use in the 1970s – we had our school sports day on them, and the council was maintaining them at this time. I recall using the changing rooms in the early 80s while a student at NK.

At Guy Fawkes, the community would have fireworks here, with special homemade fireworks from some local residents. Those were the best! I lived in the fire station, and with all the firemen around we’d get through Bonfire night injury free.

I think the tennis courts still had nets in the 70s, but I may be wrong. I mainly rode my bike around the fields, and played with friends there. Good luck fighting the development.

I think there’s a yellow and purple orchid growing next to my half barrel planter. Seems to be very happy. A lot happier than my parched seedlings.

with all the changes in the planning system you should be able to get it declared a village green or something…. get the area designated as a ‘neighbourhood’, produce a ‘neighburhood plan’ that includes keeping the green space , get 3 people to sign it and it should be sorted!

New City Vision Ltd were reported in the Gazette on 08/02/11 for dissolution (i.e. to be struck off).

They have never reported any financial activity since being incorporated in 2005, it’s all dormant accounts. How are they going to finance such a venture? If they have funds/resources why are they not reported such to Companies House as required by law?

I think it would be worthy to look at the integrity of New City Vision Ltd or to find out who is really doing the development.
